Cemetery Etiquette

Rules

All decorations including rocks, urns, toys, balloons, food, and drinks are prohibited. Flowers must be placed in the vase attached to the marker; no outside vases are allowed.

The Process

Rockfish staff members offer simple, supportive, and respectful service. We begin by gathering key information: name of the deceased, service time, and burial preferences. Staff will guide families through the process, decisions, and range of options. Pricing is shared before the family enters a contract. Payment options include insurance and out of pocket. Insurance: Memorial services can proceed while payment is processed. Out-of-pocket expenses must be paid in full before services. A service contract will be created to outline all services chosen. The time required varies and may take 20 to 60 minutes.

  • Rockfish Staff coordinates with funeral home for tents, chairs, and setup.
  • Marker installation typically happens after the service is completed. A temporary marker is placed on the grave, pending delivery of the permanent
    bronze marker.

Cemetery Plots & Memorial Selection

Only flat bronze markers are allowed. Outside markers are accepted if they meet cemetery specifications. Discussions happen before and after the memorial service. Brochures and follow-up letters may provide information to assist families.

Types of Internments

– Traditional—Ground burial

– Mausoleum Entombment—Above-ground memorialization is an alternative.
